Trip to Arles

Our trip to Arles, France is booked.  We will be going there the weekend of the 22-25th of September.  Arles is in the South of France in an area called Provence.  Arles has a very ancient history.  It was a Roman outpost and many of the Roman ruins still can be seen.  It even has a Colosseum that is still working for Bullfights and concerts.  We are going there mostly to see the Roman history and to eat and drink wine.

Our friends from the lake, Jon and Deb Luhrs' daughter lives in Arles.  Andrea works digitalizing music (or something like that) for a French company.  She will be our official "tour guide"  while we are there.  She will take us also to Avignon where the famous Chateau du neuf de Pape (Chateau of the nine popes) is.  They also make fabulous wine in that region so we will go to some tasting cellars.  I can't wait.

Last night our friends Judy and Walter Jones from Mahassat Virginia called. These are the people that we visited on the Rehobeth Beach shore a few years ago.   They might be in Paris for some of the same time we are.  It would be so much fun to meet up with them.  I hope it works out.

More later.
